Liam went on to be the best ever Midfeild and indeed the best ever player to pull on an Arsenal jersey

Liam signed as an apprentice at the age of 16 to Arsenal Football Club from Home Farm Football Club in Dublin

There is a story i heard about Liam, that when he was a nipper while practing he'd wear out his left shoe and one time his mother bought him to get a new pair of shoes that the shop keeper only charged her for the Left one!!

Liam's ability to glide past defenders and the uncanny accuracy of his left foot (in the book Fever Pitch, Nick Hornby describes Liam as a "poet of the Left Foot") I think that descrides Liam 100%

He made his first team debut in October 1973 and by the next season he was a 1st team regular

Chippy matured rapidly and took on extra responsibilty after Alan Ball left highbury

Liam was the inspiration of many Arsenal victories, most noteable was the 1979 win over Man UTD in which he was the architect of all 3 Arsenal Goals

Sadly for arsenal fans Liam (who was crownded player of the year) admitted that he wanted and would join Jeventus for a measly £600.000

The vast fiscal rewards where a tempetion to Liam however i like to belive that he wanted to test himself against the best players in the world and he did. chippy played for 4 major Italian Clubs before returning to English football to finish his career at Arsenal. Sorry just wishful thinking, he finished his Career at West Ham
